Frank informs Kathryn that the Frank & Friends Show is a media sponsor of this year’s Akima Cabaret, a fun night of musical comedy, presented by the Akima Club of Knoxville. This year’s theme is “The Roaring ‘20s - When Decades Collide.” The Akima Cabaret is at the Mill & Mine on February 18 and 19. Proceeds benefit dozens of area charities. Get your tickets before they’re gone at https://www.akimaclub.org
Tonya Cinnamon complimented Kathryn’s hair in the YouTube comments on the Ice Bears episode. Rena’ suggested that Frank’s freeze-dried tortoise Mo could be an on-camera mascot for the show. Kathryn was a color-guard instructor for a high-school team that chose a turtle for their mascot because slow and steady wins the race, and they have a tough exterior but are gooey on the inside.
Happy year of the tiger! Kathryn’s husband was born in a year of the tiger. She looked online to learn that Frank was born in a year of the ox. Kathryn was born in a year of the rooster.
Kathryn recommends a 2016 movie called Mascots, which was directed by Christopher Guest. Frank once hosted a mascot dance contest.
February 3 is the Feast of St. Blaise. Frank likes to go to church and get his throat blessed. At Catholic churches, the priest will place two unlit candles near your throat and pray for you to be free of ailments of the throat through the intercession of St. Blaise.
Frank asks Kathryn if the roast cooking in the crock pot is making her hungry. They recall a time they crossed paths at a barbeque restaurant before they knew each other as well as they do now.
