065 - Panda Excess
Tuesday Dec 29, 2020
Tuesday Dec 29, 2020
Merry 5th day of Christmas! Krisha went to see Zoo Lights at Zoo Knoxville. They are illuminated silk lanterns in the shapes of exotic animals. Krisha especially loved seeing the real-life red pandas. Zoo Knoxville has a nocturnal animal building that houses skunks, raccoons, possums, and owls.
Frank met the new neighbors moving into the house behind him. They have two dogs. He is a little concerned about the dogs barking during the podcast. Krisha is proud of Frank for getting to know his neighbors during these pandemic times.
A raccoon lives in the ceiling above the ladies’ room at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre. Krisha wants to keep the raccoon as a self-sufficient pet when the theatre permanently closes on New Year’s Eve.

Merry 4th day of Christmas! Krisha & Frank give to you four new episodes this week.
Frank received two hot chocolate bombs from Beautiful Chaos Custom Creations. He and Krisha will enjoy them at the end of the show. Their Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/BeautifulChaosbyShanna
Krisha & Frank exchange Christmas gifts. Krisha gives Frank an Ultimate Random Trivia Book and a 3D Dino Stone that he can paint with his grandkids. Frank gives Krisha a snow globe with a scene of downtown Knoxville buildings, including the Sunsphere. Frank liked the snow globe so much that he asked his wife to give him one for Christmas. The snow globes are sold at the Knoxville Visitors Center, 301 S. Gay Street.
Jere the Brave heats some milk in a saucepan to pour over the chocolate bombs. When the outer shell melts, miniature marshmallows pop to the surface. They dunk chocolate chip cookies into the delicious hot chocolate before remembering that they are supposed to be doing a show.

A Little Christmas Treat
Friday Dec 25, 2020
Friday Dec 25, 2020
Merry Christmas! Krisha & Frank present a little Christmas treat for you and your family.
When Frank Jr. was three years old, he would fall asleep every night listening to Wilford Brimley read “The Night Before Christmas.” It didn’t matter if it was winter, spring, summer, or fall. He memorized the story and Frank recorded him for the 1993 Kevin & Bean comedy Christmas cassette, Santa Claus, Schmanta Claus. We hope you enjoy hearing it!
Thank you for your support! We launched the Krisha & Frank Show on September 21 and have continued to grow with your help. We are very thankful for our sponsors, Hutch & Howard Real Estate, BoneZones.com, and Steve’s Tree Service.

063 - Scot ...ish
Wednesday Dec 23, 2020
Wednesday Dec 23, 2020
Krisha & Frank are asking for more YouTube subscribers. Krisha saw a mashup of “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and “I Will Always Love You” on TikTok. She follows Stephen Sondheim on TikTok. Frank looks online to discover that Sondheim is 90 years old.
A viewer named Doro requested that Krisha & Frank attempt Scottish accents while reading a list of snowplow names. Frank once used his Scottish accent to salvage an improv show after an audience member gave an inappropriate suggestion for a guessing game.
Krisha enjoys watching Siobhan Thompson do different accents from England and Ireland on the Anglophenia YouTube channel. Krisha is reminded that she needs to buy some HP Sauce as a gift. You can order HP Sauce on Amazon at this link: https://amzn.to/34u0eaP
Frank’s friend Bean lives in London and talks about minty biscuits on his podcast. You can order Viscount Mint Cream biscuits from Amazon at this link: https://amzn.to/3phwO7R
If the British word for cookies is biscuits, what would they call a buttermilk biscuit from the South? Krisha’s favorite cookie is Nutter Butter. There used to be a cookie called Fudge Town. Frank loves pfeffernüsse cookies.
Today’s episode is sponsored by BoneZones.com (don’t forget the S) where you can buy books and merchandise autographed by world-renowned forensic anthropologist Dr. Bill Bass.

062 - Social Muddler
Tuesday Dec 22, 2020
Tuesday Dec 22, 2020
Krisha asks Frank about his eyeglasses, which he keeps in the car. Radio sales departments look for opportunities to have their deejays lasered, either for Lasik or for hair removal.
Krisha plans to go on a 30-day social media sabbatical starting January 1. Frank knows two people who were paid by Facebook to stay off the site during the election season. Frank is concerned that Krisha’s friends won’t see links to the podcast during her sabbatical.
Krisha has a friend who used Facebook’s dating service. Krisha experimented with several dating apps, including Facebook Dating. She was immediately swamped with 60 messages from men, most of whom had similar shirtless poses in their profile pictures.
Frank doesn’t follow Instagram accounts that are set to private because he doesn’t want to take the risk that they will say no.

061 - Museum of Pine Art
Monday Dec 21, 2020
Monday Dec 21, 2020
One of Frank’s neighbors has hung a giant red ornament in a gnarled, bent tree. It is reminiscent of Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree.
Frank helped his grandson with an at-home learning assignment. Artie called on FaceTime to read his list of vocabulary words and then look for those items around his house.
Krisha’s kids switched to virtual learning. It’s hard to keep up with the minute-by-minute schedule. A teacher told Frank that they see video games playing in the background during some Zoom calls with students.
Krisha bought a space heater at Lowe’s and was surprised to see so many dogs in the store. When she bought her Christmas tree there, she had to wrap it herself and carry it from the garden center to the main checkout. Krisha wants to put herself through the tree-netting device.
When Frank lived in California, he was surprised to see wooden criss-cross Christmas tree stands like ones on A Charlie Brown Christmas. Krisha hung stockings in her new home for herself and her kids.

060 - Dancin’ and Prancin’
Friday Dec 18, 2020
Friday Dec 18, 2020
A YouTube viewer asked for an update on Avogadro the Avocado plant. Frank stresses Krisha out and then she says something funny to relieve the tension. Krisha took a Praxis test to be a teacher. Frank thinks the name sounds like a mispronunciation.
Krisha is the same age as the “vintage” posters at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre. When Frank was 40, he went to Alaska and decided he could visit all 50 states by the time he turned 50. Krisha wants to spend a year driving around the country.
Krisha was preparing to go running when she encountered a group of mature women taking a line-dancing class in a parking lot. They invited her to participate. One woman couldn’t believe how easily Krisha learned the steps. Frank can relate because he had to learn new choreography for The Nutcracker in 2019. His “ballet wife” had no trouble learning it and dragging Frank through the new steps.
To celebrate her “old-lady line-dancing” Krisha went to dinner at 4:15 p.m. at Cracker Barrel before going to the “bougie Kroger” at Kingston Pike and Cedar Bluff. Frank had mistakenly thought the “bougie Kroger” was the one where the college girls can be seen “lampshading” after they go to Sun Tan City.
Today’s episode is sponsored by BoneZones.com (don’t forget the S) where you can buy books and merchandise autographed by world-renowned forensic anthropologist Dr. Bill Bass. Mention the Krisha & Frank Show to get free shipping on Christmas orders.

059 - Slow Children at Play
Thursday Dec 17, 2020
Thursday Dec 17, 2020
It’s one week before Christmas Eve and Krisha & Frank wonder where the time has gone. Krisha asks if Frank has completed his Christmas shopping. He says he did buy something for his wife Jere but hasn’t gotten anything for Krisha yet.
Krisha liked to give her kids gifts that are experiences such as concert tickets. This year one of her kids asked for a pair of Doc Martens, which are very expensive. Frank suggested giving one boot now and one later.
Frank’s friend Bean watched as Krisha & Frank hosted the Karns Network’s livestream of the Karns Christmas Parade on Saturday. You can watch a replay of the parade here: https://youtu.be/iqe6lPdNlR4
Krisha & Frank were impressed with the professionalism of the Karns High School students working on the parade coverage. The Karns Fair and Parade Board donated $400 to the Karns Network to help cover the cost of the brand-new equipment they purchased for the livestream.
Krisha was tickled by Frank’s self-criticism about the parade and by his comment about how slow the Karns Volunteer Fire Department was driving. Mindy Thomas of TriStar Twirl wondered how the parade announcer knew the name of her father-in-law. Frank’s wife teased him for referring to the Fairest of the Fair winners as being from “his pageants.”

058 - Petals to the Meddle
Wednesday Dec 16, 2020
Wednesday Dec 16, 2020
Krisha has started drinking Mountain Dew Zero Sugar. She used to smoke cigarettes and Frank wonders how they ever became friends. She would use essential oils to hide the smell of smoke.
Frank mentions that smokers get more breaks at work than non-smokers. If your boss is a smoker and you’re not, you may miss out on some opportunities. Instead of a smoke break, Frank wanted to take a breathing break from wearing his mask in a long meeting. He thinks breathing breaks will become the new smoking breaks.
Frank and his wife each got five emails all at once from FTD. He was mad because he thought he had unsubscribed from FTD’s emails after his mother died. He used to get airline miles when buying flowers for his mother.
Krisha wants to know when Frank last bought flowers for his wife. He thinks that a plant might be better than cut flowers. Krisha still has the now-dead flowers she bought at the last Farmers' Market downtown.
Frank wonders if FTD has an affiliate marketing program. Krisha has a better idea and wants to find an affiliate marketing deal from a food delivery service like HelloFresh.
